Phonics is the teaching of the relationships between letters and how they sound

“Why are children reading and spelling so poorly?” The answer is… because they aren’t using phonics skills enough.

Most words in English are easy to read and spell if you know how. Did you know that you can read and spell 75% of words following phonics rules, or the system or pattern of speech sounds, in the English language?  The Weird Word Game is a phonics-based game. It teaches children how to read and spell most unknown words.
